The primary object of the Connecticut Institute of Land Surveying (CILS) is to seek to advance the education and training, and thereby the professionalism of individuals engaged in various facets of the land surveying profession in the state of Connecticut. As such, it is not specifically designed for the licensed professional, though some courses or seminars may be of interest. The long term object of CILS is to continue to expand the course and seminar offerings by contracting with other professionals with specific areas of expertise to deliver different courses and seminars. CILS will combine theory with the actual experience of the instructors to prepare participants for either entry level or promotion in the profession.
CILS will not offer academic core courses nor seek to award academic degrees. Rather it will specialize in those particular courses and seminars that are of the utmost interest to those engaged in the different aspects of land surveying. The courses are designed to be practical, pragmatic, and immediately useful for the participants. It is hoped that the certificates issued by CILS will prove their own value to the members of the Connecticut Land Surveyor's community.
CILS will pursue all avenues to secure college credit or CEU's for the participants in each of it's course offerings. CILS is registered in the town of Orange, CT, and will be registered with the state of Connecticut. Any and all advances to securing CEU's or college course credit will be posted on this site under "Policy and Procedures."
